Why Schools Choose Landmark

A Standard of Care Your Families Expect

Private and independent schools choose Landmark because we don't operate like a mass-market tour company. Every itinerary is built from a blank page. Every group has a dedicated planner. Every detail is held to the standard your community expects.

100% Custom Itineraries

No catalog trips. We start with your curriculum goals, grade level, group size, and budget — then design the trip around them. Unlimited revisions until it's exactly right.

Travel Consultant & Account Manager

You'll work with the same Landmark Travel Consultant from the first conversation through the post-trip debrief. Your dedicated Account Manager knows your school, your faculty leads, and the parents asking questions.

Duty of Care, Done Right

24/7 emergency hotline. Vetted hotels. Background-checked tour managers. Comprehensive travel protection. The protocols Heads of School ask about — covered.

★★★★★

"Landmark helped me customize every single aspect of the trip. They worked with me to revise the itinerary multiple times before we booked. It was slightly more expensive than competitors and I'm glad I convinced the parents to pay the extra money for the totally bespoke experience. Highly recommend Landmark."

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions Worth Asking

What grade levels does Landmark serve?
We design trips for grades 5 through 12. Our most-requested programs are 8th grade capstone trips (typically Washington DC), middle school overnight trips, high school AP/honors curriculum trips, junior class leadership trips, and senior class international trips. Each itinerary is age-calibrated for content, pacing, and supervision.
What's included in your trip pricing?
Standard inclusions: round-trip transportation, all hotel accommodations, breakfast and dinner daily, all attraction admissions, professional Landmark-employed tour managers, 24/7 emergency support, and travel protection options. Optional add-ons include lunches, premium attraction upgrades, and bespoke experiences. Everything is fully transparent — no surprise fees.
What does "fully managed" actually mean?
It means we handle: itinerary design, hotel sourcing and contracts, all transportation, attraction reservations, dining, parent communication templates, registration portal, payment collection (if you want), protection options, on-trip tour managers, and 24/7 emergency support. Your faculty's job is teaching and chaperoning — ours is everything else.
How far in advance should we plan?
Ideally 6–12 months in advance, especially for spring trips and international destinations. We can often accommodate shorter timelines, but lead time directly affects pricing, hotel quality, and air availability. We're now actively booking 2026–2027.
Do you work with religious and faith-based schools?
Yes. We build trips for Catholic, Christian, Jewish, Episcopal, Jesuit, Lutheran, Quaker, parochial, diocesan, and other religious and faith-based schools. Itineraries can be tailored to align with your school's mission and traditions, including worship arrangements, heritage destinations, and faith-aligned service learning programs.
Are you SYTA-certified and properly accredited?
Yes. Landmark Educational Tours is a SYTA Member (#13443), IATA-accredited (#22576046), American Bus Association Member (#84360), BBB Accredited Business, ETOA Member, and California Seller of Travel registered (CST 2168995-50). Full credentialing documentation is available for your business office on request.
How is pricing structured?
Every Landmark proposal is itemized and tiered — we typically build three options at different investment levels so you have parent-meeting-ready choices. Pricing varies based on destination, duration, group size, and inclusions. The best way to get accurate pricing for your school is to request a custom proposal — it takes about 60 seconds, and we'll respond within one business day.
