HOW TO PLAN YOUR NEXT SCHOOL TRIP TO WASHINGTON DC.

Washington D.C. is our nation’s capital and one of the most sought-after destinations for school trips. Year after year busloads of bright young students are brought to learn and discover about our country’s Founding Fathers, Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence.  Washington D.C. is also home to one of the largest networks of museums in the world. Visiting Washington, D.C. is doable all year round!

If you are planning a school trip to Washington, D.C, here’s what we suggest on the next steps to planning your adventure.

3 Important Tips on how to plan your next school trip to DC:

    1. Choosing Travel dates – This is important because knowing when your group is looking to travel will help us here at Landmark to figure out the best and most available attractions to visit at the time of departure.

    2. Choosing an objective – This attribute is important because at Landmark, we want to know what category your trip leans towards. Determining the purpose of your travels can help solidify the details of your trip, including the tips listed above. If the trip your planning is more lax and celebratory, perhaps it can serve as an incentive trip, welcoming only a select few to attend. Are you looking to bring the classroom to the trip? Is it a more relaxed end of the school year trip with more fun activities? Let us know to accommodate your trip!

    3. Early Planning-  Landmark finds the most simplest way when working to plan a trip with the trip organizer. One suggestion we give our planners is to PLAN EARLY! With Washington, D.C being one of our best destinations for school trips it is encouraged to plan ahead and start the planning process as early as possible.

It’s important to plan each day based on the priorities you have for your class. When we plan your itinerary with you we will make suggestions based on the location but also based on the transit time between them. Factors like traffic will have a dramatic impact on how many attractions you can see in one day. Remember we have to allocate time for pick up and drop off with the motorcoach. Then, navigating the busy streets can also erode some of our time.

And this is why 4 day Washington DC school trip itineraries allow you to explore beyond the core attractions within the district. Moreover, on a 3-day itinerary, we recommend focusing and staying closer to the center to avoid longer transit time.

But we are here to work with you to plan the best possible itinerary to achieve the goal of your school trips.
